Hello everyone,
I know, no one wants to hear this, but it is absolutely unbelievable what MS does for its main customers. According to the Vista Website the beta will be public in a few weeks (!!!!!) for non MSDN or tech net subscribers.
Why this? I´ve an idea: To prefer people willing to pay extra money for msdn or technet. Being a MCP doesn´t count (why - they didnt pay....).
I don´t know why I try to convince my boss not using Linux instead of Windows. I think I will not do so in future. Microsoft doesn´t care about tech enthusiasts, not even a little bit.
Sorry for the bad english, just opened a bottle of vodka after reading the "few weeks" line on the vista website.

Absolutely mad at microsoft...

They did the same thing with almost every previous version of Windows. Why does this surprise or shock you?

Why does this surprise or shock you?
Because there are people out there who don´t know anything about windows, who usually ask me for support but they know someone at microsoft austria and are in the technical beta for about a year and they didn´t even file a single bug (of course).
I tried to resist from downloading vista somewhere and when it´s time again - what did I get - nothing, once again... Obviously dating a female microsoft employee in the right position is more helpful in getting into a technical beta than knowing windows.
What should I say more: So be it (and my bottle of vodka is still with me *g*).
I would take the time to get familar with the Program Guide to better prepare yourself for Vista BETA 2: http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/9/8/C988DCE4-1971-4AD4-A1EF-DF99E596A4CC/(60MB)--Windows%20Vista%20Product%20Guide.doc -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Markus_h" wrote in message

It seems the only reason you open your mouth is to change your feet! (just FYI)! Frank
You are so wrong. Why don't you Read Microsoft's web site. There will be a public beta in the coming days/weeks.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/get_it.mspx
"In the coming weeks, Microsoft will start the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program (CPP) for developers and IT professionals who are not a part of one of those programs to obtain Windows Vista Beta 2 and begin their own testing."

I guess they dont wanna distribute to everyone at same time, cause theres lots of work coming with it.
Distributing by sending media ... send all the discs need some preparation. Download distributions ... not everyone can download at same time (unless u wanna download at 0.1kb/s ;))

I rather imagine they want to spread out the load on the servers from how many are downloading it.
